Bill and Ted's American Wedding.
This is one of those times when I don't know what I'm going to say in this here web journal. But the news is on and I just heard a blurb about the president and the catholic church stopping same-sex marriages. Here is what I think: people of the same sex, whether sanctioned by the government or an official church or not, are going to make promises to each other to stay together forever, as many people do who are "in love". To pretend that marriage is a sacrement, to pretend that marriage is something not to be taken lightly is at best an ideal. But when fifty percent of marriages end in divorce, and many other people stay together for convienience or child obligations, this ideal seems outdated. Isn't anyone willing to face the FACTS about marriage? Really what are we dealing with here? Medical benefits? ITs like, we can't offer same-sex couples medical benefits, but we wont let them get married. If someone needs medicine, and you happen to have a connection with somewhere that you are (albeit willingly) a slave to, then why should you not be able to pass that on to someone in your life you love, whether that love is acted upon sexually or not? If the church thinks it can stop gays and lesbians from loving each other, in any sense of the word, is naive. If the church's emphasis is on the legality of it, then how is it a sacrament? The real question is: why is marriage in its full and legal status so exclusive to people of the same sex? Marriage fails many times. The legal benefits aren't that beneficial many times. And you are NOT going to stop people from having sex, or from promising to never leave each other, so what are you stopping? Its simply protecting an ideal that actually doesn't exist in reality, and stopping people from medicine and possibly assets that can be split/inherited. Does this make sense? I say no.
Today I learned a new card game and beat everyone. I learned that card games are largely intuitive, and if you think you already know what the cards are, you do. It was fun, and it made me feel more confident in my own intuitions (cue Jewel).

Oh, here's something. My bedroom light burned out and I had to replace it. The one that burned out was 75watts, and the one I replaced it with is 100, so I thought it would be great because I sometimes thought it was too dark. But when I turned it on it was darker than before. It was darker than my 40watt lamp I just got, and it was very depressing. I asked my dad about it and it turns out it was a "long lasting" bulb. Apparently it was just stretching the light out over more years. Meanwhile I was left unable to see anything I was reading or writing. I switched it to a real 100 watt and now its like the sun in my mouth.
Thats the end of that story.
Tonight in acting I tried to read a part from "Life as a house", which I haven't seen but have heard good things about. I volunteered before knowing what it was and I ended up playing this angsty teenager, but Julie thought it was not convincing. She wanted me to get up and scream and shove, and that wasn't my idea of the character. Another woman said it gave her "goose pimples" afterwards. I'm sure it could've been improved, but I'm getting much better at not nice characters. I give myself props.
End.

Your first paragraph is an excellent rant (and I agree, btw). Good work. :-)
